Nashoba Areas B1, B2, B3, And B4
Location
High Priority: clear re-growth of Euonymus, clear Bush Honeysuckle
Areas are near Pencil Factory Kiosk (i in map).
These areas contain mainly Winged Euonymous, but also quite a bit of Bush Honeysuckle and some Japanese Barberry, Bittersweet, Multiflora Rose, and Buckthorn.
B1 is everything that contains WingedE between wall 1 and the Yellow Trail. B2 is bounded to the South East by ground not contaning WingedE (but it does contain Buckthorn).
Most the area is sunny. There is poison ivy near wall 1. Area seems to be free of ticks, even when they are elsewhere.
2022: WingedE was cleared from all 4 areas by Bob Walton. Substantial roots were NOT removed. Other invasives were not cleared. Parts of B4 near kiosk and Red Trail were never properly cleared.
2023: B1 substantially re-cleared, B2 significantly re-cleared, B3 and B4 somewhat re-cleared by Bob Walton.
Current Goals:
- Clear re-growth.
- Clear new small WingedE.
- Clear other invasives, particularly BushH and JBerry.
- Remove roots when not too difficult.
- Add some new Red Maple trees for future canopy. There are juvenile Red Maple along the Yellow Trail to South.
